Biography
Early life
Shull was born in Evanston, Illinois, the son of Zana Marie (née Brown), a court stenographer, and Ulysses Homer Shull, a manufacturing executive.[citation needed] He attended York High School (Elmhurst, Illinois) and the University of Iowa.
