Mike Onesko is an American singer and guitarist, primarily known for his work in the Blindside Blues Band.
Biography
At age 17, Onesko moved from his hometown of Fairview Park, Ohio to San Francisco, California.
There, he formed the Sundog Trio and later a quintet called Steelwind, when he was discovered by Mike Varney, the president and founder of Shrapnel Records.[1]
Soon after, Onesko formed the Blindside Blues Band with guitarist Scott Johnson, bassist Gregg Chaisson, and drummer Jeff Martin.[2] With Shrapnel, Onesko released the first three Blindside Blues Band records Blindside Blues Band, Blindsided, and Messenger of the Blues. His last release under Shrapnel was To the Station, a Blindside Blues Band rebranding under the name Mike Onesko's Blindside Blues Band.[3] After his tenure with Shrapnel, Onesko made his way to Comet Records in Italy, where he released the Smokehouse Sessions albums with the Blindside Blues Band, his first
