Percival Borde
Percival Borde was an Afro-Caribbean dancer choreographer educator and scholar who created many important works in modern dance in the mid 20th century.
Biography
Born on December 22nd, 1922 in the Port of Spain Trinidad and Tobago, Percival Sebastian Borde was the son of veterinarian George Paul Borde and Augustine Francis Lambie. He was raised in Trinidad and attended school at the Queen Royal College.

In his early career he began studying traditional Afro-Caribbean culture and movement while he was dancing with the Little Carib Dance Theater. While working as a director for the Little Carib he met dancer, choreographer, and anthropologist Pearl Primus.
They both did research as well as collaborated together on many projects. Through their work they began to form a relationship, as well as a partnership, which resulted in them getting married soon after they met. He then immigrated to the United states where continued to work on his craft and joined the Pearl P
